غرقد

غَرْقَدٌ ذ A species of tree, (S, O, L, K,) of large size, (L, K,) of the kind termed عِضَاه, (L,) said by some to grow in the ground termed قُفّ: (O, L:) or the species of tree called عَوْسَج [or boxthorn], when it has grown large: (AHn, O, L, K:) a species of thorny tree: (L:) [a coll. gen. n.:] n. un. with ة. (L, O, K.) -A2- It is said in the K to signify also The white of an egg: but as thus expl., it is app. a mistake for غِرْقِئٌ. (TA.)
