It is better to win an honorable victory  than to trip up justice helped by the odiousness of power. For unjust victory is sweet to mortals at first, but in time it turns out sere and joyless and the house is wrapped in disgrace.  This is the life I praise, this the life I strive to win, to hold no power in house or in city that goes beyond justice's bounds.
