But first of all I will clear up the objections
made on the score of religion in the case of my own house, if I am able to
do so truly, and without leaving the least doubt in any one's mind; but if
the very slightest scruple on the subject exists in any one's mind, I will
obey the prodigies sent by the immortal gods, and comply with what is
required by the reverence due to them not only with a patient but even with
a willing mind.
