13. eodem anno Carseolos colonia in agrum Aequicolorum deducta. [2] Fulvius consul de Samnitibus triumphavit. cum comitia consularia instarent, fama exorta Etruscos Samnitesque ingentes conscribere exercitus: [3] palam omnibus conciliis vexari principes Etruscorum, quod non Gallos quacumque condicione traxerint ad bellum; increpari1 magistratus Samnitium, quod exercitum adversus Lucanum hostem comparatum obiecerint Romanis; [4] itaque suis sociorumque viribus consurgere hostes ad bellum, et haudquaquam pari defungendum esse certamine.

[11] iam regi leges, non regere. populus4 nihilo minus suffragia inibat, et ut quaeque intro vocata erat centuria, consulem haud dubie Fabium dicebat.
