[8] ad Scultennam flumen in campos progressi castra habebant hostes, ibi cum iis acie dimicatum. quindecim milia caesa, plus septingenti5 aut in proelio aut in castrisnam ea quoque expugnata suntcapti, et signa militaria unum et quinquaginta capta. [9] Ligures, reliquiae caedis, in montes refugerunt, passimque populanti6 campestres agros consuli nulla usquam apparuerunt arma. [10] Claudius duarum gentium uno anno victor, duabus, quod raro alius, in consulatu pacatis7 provinciis Romam revertit.8
