Capricious, of uncertain meaning: “I am here with thee and thy goats, as the most c. poet, honest Ovid, was among the Goths,” As III, 3, 8. Evidently an allusion to the Latin capra (goat), and a quibble between goats and Goths. The word may mean what it does to-day. Perhaps == goatish.
