Leash, a string or thong by which a greyhound is led: “not following my l. unwillingly,” Wint. IV, 4, 477. “like a fawning greyhound in the l.” Cor. I, 6, 38. Used in contempt of persons yoked together: “I am sworn brother to a l. of drawers, and can call them all by their Christen names, as Tom, Dick, and Francis,” H4A II, 4, 7 (three greyhounds making a leash).
