Pipe-wine, wine not from the bottle, but from the pipe or cask: “I shall drink in p. first with him; I'll make him dance,” Wiv. III, 2, 90. The jest consists in the double sense of pipe as the instrument after which people used to dance. cf. the preceding canary.
