Silver-shedding, an evident misprint of O. Edd., as it ought to be written in two words: “sad sighs, deep groans, nor silver shedding tears, could penetrate her uncompassionate sire,” Gent. III, 1, 230 (i. e. a silvery flow of tears; cf. silver melting in Lucr. 24).
