Megaron
In many Greek temples a space divided off and sometimes subterranean, which only the priest was allowed to enter. Description: Originally the large hall or chief room in the early (Homeric) Greek house, with the roof supported by columns, the light entering through the doors, the smoke-hole, and the apertures just under the roof.
