ARIASSOS
Turkey.
In Pisidia near Yürükbademlisi, 3 km SW of Dağ Nahiyesi. The city is listed
by Ptolemy, Hierokles, and the
Notitiae, but is unknown
to history. The site is proved by an inscription found on
the spot (
IGR III, 422). It is on two hills of no great
height, approached from the N by a road spanned by
a triple-arched gateway of the familiar form, handsome
and well preserved. The W hill carries a ring wall preserved in part, and on both hills are numerous built tombs, some still in good condition. One or two other
buildings in good masonry stand to a fair height but are
not identifiable.
