CUEVAS DE SORIA
Soria, Spain.
A Roman
villa 23 km SW of Numancia. It is one of the best examples in Spain of the classical type of Hellenistic dwelling,
with rooms around a central peristyle (22 x 41 m). Of
the 30 apartments discovered, 22 have floors covered
with polychrome mosaics in opus tessellatum, occupying
a total area of 1400 sq. m. The villa probably dates from
the end of the 2d c. and was inhabited until the end of
the Empire.
