MALAIA CHERNOMORKA formerly Beikushskoe, Ukraine.

A Greek settlement dating from the first half of the 6th c. to the mid 5th c. B.C. at the junction of the Berezan and Beikush rivers, near the entry of the former into the Dnieper estuary. The triangular site, uncovered in modest excavations, contained several rectangular semisubterranean dwellings, at least one surface structure, and grain pits. Among the artifacts were numerous amphorae sherds with Greek graffiti connected with the cult of Achilles.
