PACHIA AMMOS
(“Minoa”) Ierapetra district, Crete.
On the SE corner of the Gulf of Mirabello a
town where Greek and Roman remains have been found.
These along with Minoan remains support the identification with Minoa. The ancient site may, however, have
existed in the SW corner of the same gulf, at Katevati and
Nisi below Kalochorio, serving as a port of Istron (at
Vrokastro or Kalochorio?).
