RUTUNIUM Shropshire, England.

From its position in the Antonine Itinerary (469.5), 12 Roman miles from Mediolanum (Whitchurch) and 11 from Viroconium (Wroxeter), and from its name, this must lie near Harcourt Mill, where the Roman road crosses the river Roden, in the territory of the Cornovii. Roman pottery has been found near the line of the road, but no details of the settlement are yet known.
