BLAIN Loire-Atlantique, France.

For several centuries the substratum of this little town ca. 30 km from Nantes has yielded archaeological remains dating from the Late Empire. A good deal of pottery has been uncovered, including a hemispherical bowl of terra sigillata with a molded design depicting Trajan's victory over the Daci under Decebalus. Most of the objects found at Blain are housed in the Mairie.
