MONTGÓ Valencia and Alicante, Spain.

Fortifications on a mountain group that follows the coast from Sagunto to Denia. One of the peaks, the Alto de Benimaquia, was fortified with a wall and six rectangular towers which guarded a large area of the coast; a section 125 m long, dating from the 5th and 4th c. B.C., is still standing. The Pico del Aguila has three stepped walls of the 3d and 2d c. B.C.
