A vowel before a diphthong not beginning with the same sound generally contracts with the first vowel of the diphthong; the last vowel, if ι, is subscript (5): τι_μάει ῀ τι_μᾷ, τι_μάοιμεν ῀ τι_μῷμεν, λείπεαι ῀ λείπῃ, μεμνηοίμην ῀ μεμνῴμην. a.
