A messenger comes forth from the house. An ἐξάγγελος is one who announces τὰ ἔσω γεγονότα τοῖς ἔξω （Hesych.）, while the ἄγγελος （924） brings news from a distance: in Thuc. 8.51 “（τῷ στρατεύματι ἐξάγγελος γίγνεται ὡς, κ.τ.λ.）,” one who betrays secrets.
