[809] καθίκετο governs μου, which μέσον κάρα defines: Plut. Anton. 12 sku/tesi lasi/ois ... kaqiknou/menoi tw=n e)ntugxano/ntwn: Lucian Sym. 16τάχα δ᾽ ἄν τινος καθίκετο τῇ βακτηρίᾳ”: Lucian Icaromenippus 24σφόδρα ἡμῶν πέρυσι χειμὼν καθίκετο.” This verb takes accus. only as = to reach, lit. or fig. (as Hom. Il. 14.104μάλα πώς με καθίκεο θυμόν).

διπλοῖς κέντροισι a stick armed at the end with two points, used in driving. Cp. Hom. Il. 23.387 (horses) ... ἄνευ κέντροιο θέοντες. The τροχηλάτης had left it in the carriage when he got out to walk up the hill.
