[97] ὡς marks that the partic. τεθραμμένον expresses the view held by the subject of the leading verb (ἄνωγεν): i.e., “as having been harboured” = “which (he says) has been harboured.” Cp. Xen. Anab. 1.2.1ἔλεγε θαρρεῖν ὡς καταστησομένων τούτων εἰς τὸ δέον”: he said, “Take courage, in the assurance that” etc.
