τί χρῆμα; Cp. Eur. Hec. 754 (Hecuba having said, “ἱκετεύω”,) “ΑΓ. τί χρῆμα μαστεύουσα”; So oft. in questions, as Ai. 228, Ph. 1231.

πάγκοινον, a sneer at the generality of the seer's exordium. What aphorism is this to be? But the seer's thought has a terribly definite point, as Creon is soon to feel (1066).
