In “ἀντειπεῖν κακῶς, ἀντί” qualifies the whole phrase: i.e., it means, ‘to revile in return,’ “ἀντιλοιδορεῖν”, as “ἀντιδρᾶν κακῶς” (O. C. 1191)= “ἀνταδικεῖν”.
