κεραυνίᾳ, destroyed by the lightning of Zeus: see on 1115 f. Works of art frequently associate Dionysus with his mother. Thus a fragmentary vase-painting shows him introducing her to Olympus (Welcker, Alte Denkm. III. pl. 13). On coins she is sometimes enthroned beside him. See Baumeister, Denkm. p. 443.
