μαθεῖν οὐ δυσπετής. Menelaüs, king of Lacedaemon ( Od. 11. 460), is for Attic Tragedy a type of Spartan harshness and arrogance. In Eur. Andr. 458 he is called “γοργὸς ὁπλίτης”.
