μηδὲν ὢν γοναῖσιν: the phrase is exactly parallel with “ἀγέννητος” used in the sense of “δυσγενής” ( Tr. 61). In 1231 “οὐδὲν ὢν” has a like sense. Here “μηδὲν” is ‘generic,’ denoting the class of person.
