ὑπὸ … πορεύεται: so Tr. 391“οὐκ ἐμῶν ὑπ᾽ ἀγγέλων ι ἀλλ᾽ αὐτόκλητος ἐκ δόμων πορεύεται.” σμικρᾶς, in contrast with the ‘large ribs.’ Cp. Ant. 477“σμικρῷ χαλινῷ δ᾽ οἶδα τοὺς θυμουμένους ι ἵππους καταρτυθέντας.” ὀρθὸς, ‘it is brought straight into the road’ (from which it has strayed): cp. Helen. 1555 “ταύρειος δὲ ποὺς ι οὐκ ἤθελ᾽ ὀρθὸς σανίδα προσβῆναι κάτα”, ‘to advance straight across the plank’ (into the ship).
