οἲ ᾿γώ: rare in Tragedy: in El. 674, El. 1115“τάλαινα” is added: but cp. Soph. Ph. 1274“οἲ ᾿γώ, τί λέξεις;” πρόστητ̓, place yourselves (as it were) in front of it, i.e., ‘interpose between it and me,’ ‘defend me from it.’ Cp. For the usage of “προστῆναι”, see on El. 980. ἀναγκαίας τύχης, the fortune impending over Tecmessa from that “ἀνάγκη”, or destiny, which Calchas has expounded.
