ταλαίνης is better taken with συμφορᾶς than with “σοῦ” understood. Cp. Aesch. Th. 695τάλαιν᾽ ἀρά”: Aesch. Ch. 1069μόχθοι τάλανες”. Soph. Ai. 980ὤμοι βαρείας ἆρα τῆς ἐμῆς τύχης”: where, as here, and in O.T. 1395, O.C. 409, “ἆρα”=simply “ἄρα”.
