ἀνήκουστα, lit., ‘not to be heard’: then, ‘dreadful to hear’; cp. “ἄρρητα”. So Eur. Hipp. 362“ἔκλυες, <*>”, | “ἀνήκουστα τᾶς” | “τυράννου πάθη μέλεα θρεομένας”. Antiphon or. 1 § 22 “δεήσεται ἀθέμιτα καὶ ἀτέλεστα καὶ ἀνήκουστα καὶ θεοις καὶ ὑμῖν”.
