ἐσωφρόνησας: for the aor., cp. 1099φρονῆσαι” (n.).

κλαυμάτων: cp. Ant. 931τοῖσιν ἄγουσιν” | “κλαύμαθ᾽ ὑπάρξει”. The familiar use of “κλαίων” in threats (ib. 754) made it natural to use the subst. as =‘troubles’: hence the confusion of metaphor would not be felt. For like phrases with πόδα, see on Ant. 619.
