σοῦ with ἔχοιτο, cleave to thee, διαμπερὲς στέρνων, piercing thy breast (and not merely thy foot). “σοῦ”, not “σου”, is needed here, where there is a contrast between the actual sufferer and the man to whom he wishes the plague transferred. If we read σου, the chief emphasis would fall on “διαμπερὲς στέρνων”.
