ποθουμένᾳ = “ποθούσῃ”, a midd. found only here, yet not suspicious, since the context excludes the pass. sense. The ‘longing mind’ is clearly Deianeira's; “ποθουμένᾳ” could not well denote the ‘anxious’ or ‘tender’ feeling of the Chorus. As πυνθάνομαι is devoid of emphasis,—like a parenthetic ‘so I hear,’—the order of the words is not too bold.
