πρὸς οὐδενὸς (neut.) τῶν ἔνδον, by nothing in the house (such as fire, or a corrosive substance). The conj. τῶν ἐκτός is ingenious, but seems unnecessary.— φθίνει, instead of “φθίνον”: see n. on O. T.1134.
