ἀδικοῦντα, ‘not acting straightforwardly.’ Cf. οὐ καλῶς ἐκρύφθη, c. 50, § 5. Plut. Alcib. 25 has it ἐλελήθει δ᾽ ἄρα (sc. ὁ Φρύνιχος) προδότης προδότῃ διαλεγόμενος. ἐξάγγελος with its ordinary sense of betraying a secret to those not in it. Cf. ἐξαγγελία, Xen. Cyr. ii. 4, 23; ἐξαγγέλλειν, ibid. vi. 1, 42. μέλλουσιν . . . πεπυσμένος εἴη Cf. c. 50, § 1. κύριος ἦν πράσσων For the participle cf. v. 34, ὤστε μήτε ἄρχειν μήτε πριαμένους τι ἢ πωλοῦντας κυρίους εἶναι. One should not accept Reiske's alteration of Eur. Suppl. 1190, οὗτος κύριος, τύραννος ὢν, | πάσης ὑπὲρ γῆς Δαναιδῶν ὁρκωμοτῶν to -εἶν. Lit. ‘and he was within his powers in so acting on his own authority.’ αὐτὸς = μόνος = without waiting for sanction. ταῦτα, sc. the measures he proposed.
