τῶν μὲν Παράλων κ.τ.λ. The clause which properly answers to this is δὲ Χαιρέας κ.τ.λ. Another clause with δὲ intervenes, but that δὲ is merely connective.

ἐς ἄλλην στρατιῶτιν ναῦν. ἄλλην is appositive: ‘into another vessel, one which was a troop-ship’ Cf. ii. 31, χωρὶς δὲ ἄλλος ὅμιλος ψιλῶν οὐκ ὀλίγος, ‘and, besides these, the light-armed as well.’ By being placed in a troop-ship they would be secured from rising. These Πάραλοι appear again c. 86, § 9.
