Bowdoin 1913.21

Height: 1 1/8 in. (2.8 cm.); Width: 2 1/4 in. (5.7 cm.)

This fragment from the inside of the kylix preserves the head and shoulders of a woman dressed in a chiton and with a sakkos covering her hair. To the left on a stick or staff (?) is a piece of drapery or, perhaps, a lyre bag. Beazley suggests that she is a cup bearer.

Attributed to the Brygos Painter [Beazley] ca. 480 - 475 B. C.
