[469] ἐνιαυτὸς ἔην, ‘a year was past:’ so “ἐστὶν ἔτος Od.2. 89.

περὶἔτραπον means ‘returned on their course,’ so as to begin the circuit of a new year; cp. “περιπλομένων ἐνιαυτῶν Od.1. 16, different from “ἐπήλυθον ὧραι” in Od.2. 107.
