[220] χάλκεον ἑπταβόειον, explained in 223. The seven layers of hide were dried and sewn together (App. B i. 1); the layer of metal was nailed on the top of them. Observe the obvious allusion in “Τυχίος .. τεύχων”, and cf. 5.59Τέκτων Ἁρμονίδης”; and for the use of “κάμε,2.101.
