A.“-έπτην” Luc.DMeretr.9.4: pres. “διαπέταται” S.OT1310 (lyr.) is f.l. for διαπωτᾶται:—fly through, “διὰ δ᾽ ἔπτατο πικρὸς ὀϊστός” Il.5.99; “ὁρᾷς τὸν ἁβρὸν οὗ βέλος διέπτατο” E.Supp.860; “δ. διὰ τῆς πόλεως” Ar.Av. 1217: c. acc., E.Med.1, Ar.V.1086.
II. fly away, vanish, “διαπτομένη οἴχεσθαι” Pl.Phd.70a, 84b, etc.; of Time, E.HF507.
III. of a report, fly in all directions, “διϊπταμένη ἡ φήμη” Hdn.2.8.7.
