ῥι_π-ίς , ίδος, ἡ, (ῥίψ)
A.fan for raising the fire, Ar.Ach.669,888; ῥ. δ᾽ ἐγείρει . . Ἡφαίστου κύνας, i.e. the slumbering flames, Eub.75.7; “πτερίνα ῥ.” AP 6.306 (Aristo).

IV. ῥιπίρ (prob. Elean): ῥιπίς, τὸ πλέγμα, ἢ ἐκ σχοίνου πέτασος. Ἀττικοὶ δὲ ῥιπίδα, ᾧ τὸ πῦρ καίουσι: καὶ τραπέζας οὕτω λέγουσι, Hsch.; Elean ῥιπίρ also in Inscr.Olymp.718, perh. = δίσκος, quoit, unless it is a pr. n.
V. ῥιπίς: τοῦ σκέλους τὸ ἀκροκώλιον, Hsch. [The acc. ῥιπῖδα occurs in AP6.306 (Aristo); but ῥιπίδα, -ίδι in Ar., etc.]
