A.dirt, filth, used by Hom. once in heterocl.pl., “κάθηράν τε ῥύπα πάνταOd.6.93: later in sg., Semon.7.63, A.Fr.82 (cf. Ar. Fr.892), Pl.Prm.130c, Eup.252, Alex.197, etc.; ἐν τοῖς ὠσὶ . Arist. Pr.960b18, cf. Artem.1.24, PMag.Osl.1.332; “. ἀπὸ τῶν ἐν τοῖς γυμνασίοις ἀνδριάντωνGal.12.116; “τὸν ἀπὸ τῶν ὀνύχων ῥύπονSuid. s.v. γρύ; ἅπαν ῥύπον all of it filth (acc.), Theoc.15.20; of a person, “πρὸς τὸ μὴ λοῦσθαι ῥύποςAristopho 10.4:—also ῥύπος , εος, τό, of cheese-parings, Hp.Mul.1.64.
