ἀποψύχω

I.to leave off breathing, to faint, swoon, Od., NTest.
2.c. acc., ἀπέψυξεν βίον breathed out life, Soph.: absol., like ἀποπνέω, Lat. exspiro, to expire, die Thuc.
II.to cool:— Pass., ἱδρῶ ἀπεψύχοντο χιτώνων they got the sweat dried off their tunics, Il.; ἱδρῶ ἀποψυχθείς id=Il.; metaph., ἀπεψυγμένοι cold, indifferent, Arist.
2.impers., ἀποψύχει it grows, cool, the air cools, Plat.
