κατάκειμαι 1 2 3 Pass., only in pres. and imperf. 4 lie down, lie outstretched, Hom., Ar.; κατακείω used as fut. of κατάκειμαι κατακείετε οἴκαδ᾽ ἰόντες, Od.; σπείσαντες κατακείομεν (epic for -κείωμεν), id=Od.; κακκείοντες ἔβαν (epic part.) they went to lie down, Hom. lie hid, lurk, Hom. lie stored up, Lat. reponi, Il., Hes. lie sick, Hdt.:— also to lie idle, Xen. recline at meals, Lat. accumbere, πῖνε, κατάκεισο Ar.
6.of land, to lie sloping to the sea (so Hor. Usticae cubantis), Pind.
