I.c. acc. to flow round, τὸν δ᾽ αἷμα περίρρεε Od.; νῆσον π. Νεῖλος Hdt., etc.:—Pass. to be surrounded by water, Xen. slip away on all sides, ἀσπὶς περιερρύη εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν slipped off his arm into the sea, Thuc.; [αἱ πέδαι] αὐτόμαται π. Xen. overflow on all sides, σοὶ περιρρείτω βίος may thy means of living abound, Soph.; οὐδενὸς περιρρέοντος being superfluous, Plut.:—Pass. to be all dripping, ἱδρῶτι with sweat, id=Plut.
