προσάγω 1 2 3 fut. mid. προσάξομαι in pass. sense προσάξομαι bring to or upon, τίς δαίμων τόδε πῆμα προσήγαγε; Od.; θυσίας πρ. τινί Hdt.; πρ. πάντα to furnish, supply, Xen. put to, bring to, move towards, apply, like Lat. applicare, τὴν ἄνω γνάθον πρ. τῇ κάτω id=Hdt.; ὀφθαλμὸν πρ. κεγχρώμασι to apply the eye closely to the eyelet-holes, Eur.
4.of meats, to set before, βρώματά τινι Xen.
5.metaph., πρ. ὅρκον τινί to put an oath to him, make him take it, Hdt. military sense, to bring up for the attack, move on towards, τῇ Ποτιδαίᾳ τὸν στρατόν Thuc.; στρατιὰν πρ. πρὸς πολεμίους, πρ. μηχανὰς πόλει id=Thuc.
