I.of or for soldiers, Xen., etc.:— τὸ στρ. (sc. ἀργύριον) the pay of the forces, Dem.; but, τὸ στρ. (sc. πλῆθος) the soldiery, Thuc.; τὰ στρατιωτικά (sc. πράγματα) military affairs, Xen.
2.fit for a soldier, military, στρ. ἡλικία the military age, id=Xen.
3.warlike, soldierlike, γένη Arist.
II.adv. like a soldier, Isocr.:—of ships, στρατιωτικώτερον παρεσκευασμένοι equipped rather as troop-ships than for battle, Thuc.
