Parrha is ursa; the Arcadian bear, from Parrhasia, a district of Arcadia. It is so called by Ovid, because Callisto, who, as we have seen before, was changed into this star, was the daughter of Lycaon, king of Arcadia.--Micat gelido polo; for both the Major and Minor Bear are northern constellations, not far from the polo.
