Anaumachiou Graphé

ἀναυμαχίου γραφή). An impeachment of the trierarch who had kept aloof from action while the rest of the fleet was engaged. In a cause of this kind, as in the kindred actions ἀστρατείας, δειλίας, λιποναυτίου, γιποταξίου, the strategi were naturally the presiding judges. The penalty was ἀτιμία, without confiscation of goods, if we may trust Andocides; whereas on conviction δειλίας or λιποταξίου, the property of the offender was confiscated (c. Alcib. i. 9).
