Arretium

The modern Arezzo; one of the more important of the twelve cities of Etruria, was situated in the northeast of the country at the foot of the Apennines, and possessed a fertile territory near the sources of the Arnus and the Tiber, producing good wine and corn. It was particularly celebrated for its pottery.
